Department of History

Department of History

The Department of History was one of the departments that constituted a group of core subjects for the undergraduate general course to mark the beginning of this institution in 2010. In 2011, it became affiliated with the honours course. For this department, the library has over 500 books, which include various textbooks and reference books on up-to-date research. The first batch passed out in 2013. The department developed a museum in 2021 to its credit and, at present, is maintaining its excellence in collaboration with the Department of Bengali. This department aims to impart knowledge to generate potential for understanding the present in light of the past among students. The purpose of it is also to stimulate students' interest in the local glory that emerged from this district’s age-old rich cultural traditions and architectural uniqueness from historical perception. Even though the college is located in a remote area, students have made the department of history more prominent by pursuing post-graduation in various universities every year.
